The AAT's new IR array camera, IRIS, has been used used to image the stars and hot gas in the Galactic centre. Emission line images are presented for He I, H + and H 2 lines, and for the K continuum.

In this letter we present the first 3D spectroscopic study of Hα emission in a z ∼ 1 field galaxy with an integral field unit. Using the adaptive optics assisted near infrared integral field spectrometer SINFONI on the VLT, we have obtained observations of the Circinus galaxy on parsec scales.
